Maybe you've been thinking about leasing or buying a Ford Fusion when the new 2013 model appears this fall, or perhaps you're even thinking about trading in your current Fusion for the more fuel efficient 2013 model. In either case, Ford has great news for you. The American auto brand has announced it will offer an automatic stop/start option for next year's model, at a price of only $295.
This new option improves fuel-efficiency by about 3.5 percent, though city drivers could achieve increases closer to 10 percent when paired with the Fusion's 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine, which saves gasoline when the car is running or standing at idle. With these improved efficiency numbers, drivers could save over $1,000 in five years' time at today's fuel prices vs. the Fusion's midsize competitors. And, that's not all. The new Ford Fusion will provide drivers with several different engine types next year, so you're sure to find one that fits your driving style.
2013 Ford Fusion powertrain options include: a plug-in hybrid, a traditionally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, a hybrid, and two EcoBoost gasoline engines. Currently, there are two types of Fusion models available for the 2012 model year: the standard Ford Fusion and the Ford Fusion Hybrid.
