Penske Racing Returns to Ford

After nine years of sponsorship by Dodge, Penske racing has decided to switch back to Ford sponsorship, which the group was under from 1995-2002. As team owner Roger Penske explains, "We appreciate the long-term commitment that Ford has made to Penske Racing and for their continued support of the sport."1 Though Penske notes that it shared many memories and wins with Dodge, the team has decided to move its commitment back to its old friend, Ford.

Penske's teams will now use Ford Fusion-based vehicles for the Sprint Cup Series and Ford Mustang-based vehicles for the Nationwide Series, beginning next season. At the present, Penske's two-car operation with drivers AJ allmendinger, Brad Keselowski, and Robby Gordon (owner/driver) is the only Dodge entrant in the Sprint Cup Series, so the series could now be limited to three manufacturers for the 2013 racing year: Ford, Chevrolet, and Toyota. Ford Motor Company's President of the Americas, Mark Fields, explains his excitement surrounding Penske's return, stating, "Working together with Penske Racing gives Ford another championship-level program," and that he is "thrilled."2

Here at Veterans Ford, located at 3724 Veterans Memorial Blvd Metairie, LA 70002, we couldn't be more excited to have Penske back on the winning Ford team. But Ford racing vehicles aren't the only ones we're excited about. We're also proud to have a fantastic selection of new 2012 Ford vehicles currently in stock. Why not stop by and take a test drive today? We're sure to have a new Ford to suit your needs!
