It may have given the vehicle a complete redesign only three years ago, but that hasn't stopped Ford from providing the Taurus with tune-up this year. For the 2013 model year, the Ford Taurus is better than ever, complete with better fuel economy ratings and added high-tech features. It even has an optional system that allows the vehicle to parallel-park itself.
The 2013 Ford Taurus has a base starting price of $26,600 (excluding destination charges) for the SE model, but prices can reach up to a starting MSRP of $39,200 for the top-of-the-line Taurus SHO (without all of the bells-and-whistles added on). At this price-point, the new Taurus will compete with its own Lincoln luxury brand and the Audi A6 (which has prices beginning at $41,700). But, even the base Taurus (at a much more affordable price) comes with a plethora of impressive features. For what you pay, you'll be getting features normally seen on much pricier luxury vehicles.
So what features do you get with the new Taurus? As far as power is concerned, the base engine is a 3.5-liter V6 that gets 288 horsepower this year, with a 1 mpg increase in fuel economy (now 19 city/29 highway). There's also an optional 2.0-liter, four-cylinder that achieves 22 city/31 highway, as well as the powerful SHO (Super High Output) model turbo engine. The refresh also includes full LED taillights, new softer materials in the cabin, a new trunk lid, a quieter ride, and a redesigned front end.
